Level 1 vs. Level 2 — why you want Level 2

Every EV comes with a Level 1 cord that plugs into a standard wall outlet. It works, but it's slow — roughly 3–5 miles of range per hour, so a full charge can take more than a day. Level 2 runs on a 240-volt circuit (the same kind an electric dryer uses) and charges 5–8x faster, typically filling an empty battery overnight. For daily driving, Level 2 is what you want, and it's what nearly everyone has us install.

Will you need a panel upgrade first?

Sometimes — and it's the thing to check early. A Level 2 charger adds a large, continuous load to your electrical system. If your panel is a modern 200-amp service with open breaker slots, you're usually fine. If you're on an older 100-amp panel that's already near capacity, we may need to add a subpanel, use load management, or upgrade the panel before the charger can go in safely.
